Deposits
A $100 refundable deposit is due upon opening a new account if any of the following apply:
- The customer has never had water service in their name at the North Coast County Water District before.
- The customer has had service in their name at the North Coast County Water District, but it has been longer than 2 years since the account was closed.
- The customer has had service in their name at the North Coast County Water District, but received a 48-Hour Shut Off notice within the past 2 years.
Length of hold
Deposits will be held for 2 years and refunded upon good standing of the customer's account, meaning, the account must be clear of 48-Hour Shut Off notices. If an account is closed prior to the 2 year mark, the deposit will be issued upon receipt of the customer's closing bill. Customers required to pay a $100 deposit after December 19, 2007, will accrue interest on their deposits. Please read Resolution No. 1008 for more details.
