Deposits

A $100 refundable deposit is due upon opening a new account if any of the following apply:

1. The customer has never had water service in their name at the North Coast County Water District before.
2. The customer has had service in their name at the North Coast County Water District, but it has been longer than 2 years since the account was closed.
3. The customer has had service in their name at the North Coast County Water District, but received a 48-Hour Shut Off notice within the past 2 years.

Length of hold

Deposits will be held for 2 years and refunded upon good standing of the customer's account, meaning, the account must be clear of 48-Hour Shut Off notices. If an account is closed prior to the 2 year mark, the deposit will be issued upon receipt of the customer's closing bill. Customers required to pay a $100 deposit after December 19, 2007, will accrue interest on their deposits. Please read Resolution No. 1008 for more details.
