Water-Wise Garden Contest Winners Awarded at Meeting
After hundreds of votes on Facebook, and input from three guest judges, the top three finalists of the 2016 Water-Wise Garden Contest were awarded at the North Coast County Water District Board Meeting on December 21, 2016. Winners included: 3rd Place: Larry Tinus of Rainier Avenue, 2nd Place: Tim & April Regalado of Pacific Avenue, and 1st Place: Mary Petrilli of Greenway Drive. Sponsors of the Water-Wise Garden Contest included Sloat Garden Center, Home Depot, Colma and Ace Hardware of Manor and Linda Mar. Guest judges included: Earthtones Landscaping, Pacifica Garden Club and Ace Hardware in Manor. Water-wise gardens are becoming increasingly popular throughout California, as many drought tolerant plants offer vibrant colors and textures, and need little water or maintenance.
